Kayaking
We have three kayaks available (two double kayaks and one single). Lifejackets (for both adults and children) and paddles are in the outdoor activities shed. Lifejackets are mandatory for all boating activities.
Fishing
Fishing rods are available in the outdoor games shed. You can ask Arsene for worms if you’d like to fish!
Swimming
Please swim at your own risk. Note that there is a risk of schistosomiasis in Lake Kivu.
Boat Trips on Lake Kivu
Arsene can arrange boat trips for you at an additional cost.
Please note: All water activities are at your own risk. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. There is a risk of schistosomiasis in Lake Kivu.
Campfire: We have an outdoor firepit with built-in seating. Arsene can arrange for the fire to be started at your preferred time—please let him know in advance.
Outdoor lawn/beach games: Available in the outdoor games shed, including cornhole, Spikeball, beach volleyball, beach badminton, Mölkky, a kite, and more.
Massage: Murugo Bay has a massage bed on-site, and with a bit of advance notice, Arsene can arrange for a masseuse to come directly to you. To request a massage, just select the Massage Add-On when booking your stay. We’ll be in touch to confirm the timing. The cost is $30 USD for one hour.
Games: We have a shelf of board games for you to enjoy.
Books: Feel free to take a book off the bookshelf and enjoy!
