Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available at Murugo Bay via Starlink. Network name and password details can be found in the central Murugo living room, or feel free to ask Arsene if you need assistance!

Speakers

Sonos speakers are installed on both floors of the central Murugo banda. You can connect to them easily and choose to play music downstairs, upstairs, or throughout the whole space at once! Arsene will be happy to show you how to connect if needed.

Universal Adaptors

Murugo Bay has universal adaptors throughout the property, making it easy to plug in and charge your devices.

Bathrooms & Showers

We’ve stocked the bathrooms with a few simple comforts to help you feel at home:

Hand soap in all bathrooms
Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers
Fresh towels
Bathrobes

Housekeeping

Cleaning Services

We clean the main kitchen and common areas early each morning, aiming to do so while you’re not in the space to respect your privacy. Please leave any dirty dishes by the sink before going to bed. Some basic cleaning supplies are also under the kitchen sink for your use if needed.

Waste Disposal

You’ll find small bins for garbage and compost under the kitchen sink. For anything more, there’s a designated spot behind the central Murugo for garbage, recycling, and compost—Arsene can show you where it is if needed.

Policies & Safety

Smoking: Please smoke only in the designated outdoor smoking area and use the ashtrays provided. Arsene can point this out to you.

Pets: Unfortunately, at the moment there are no pets allowed at Murugo Bay.

Fire Safety: Candles and open flames are not permitted inside any of the three bandas.

Water Safety: Please note that all water activities are at your own risk. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. There is a risk of schistosomiasis in Lake Kivu.

Security & Emergency Plans

Security: Murugo Bay is a safe and secure property. Security guards are present on the compound 24/7 for your peace of mind.

Murugo Bay Emergency Plans

Fire: Fire extinguishers are located on both floors of the central Murugo and in each of the bedroom bandas. With our guards working around the clock, they are always on alert and will help guide you to the Murugo Bay Assembly Point (Arsene will point this out upon arrival). If evacuation is needed, Arsene will coordinate a boat to bring all guests to Maison St. Benoît in Kigufi.

Health: A first aid kit is available in the central Murugo. In the case of an urgent health concern, Arsene will arrange for a boat and accompany you to the nearest health centre in Kigufi — by taxi or ambulance, as needed.

Note: In the event of an emergency, Murugo Bay is authorized to operate boat transfers at any time, day or night.
